Patient Receipt: Item level

  • Click on Receipt from the Menu bar.
  • Click on Patient Receipts.

  • Select the applicable Cashbook.
  • Click on OK or press F2.

Item level

  • Part 1 (Header)
    • Enter the Information in the Header (Part 1) of the Receipt.


    • Use the Tab key to navigate through the screen.
    • Enter the Amount.
    • Press Tab to go to the following screen.

  • NOTE: that the Level (F4) defaults on the item radio button.


  • Part 2 (Debtor)
    • Enter the Debtor number or Tab to search through the Debtor list.
    • Press Tab.
    • Enter the Amount.
    • Press Tab.
  • NOTE: that the Level (F4) radio button defaults on the Item radio button.


  • Part 3 (Detail)
    • A list of the outstanding Invoices, displaying the items for each Invoice is reflected.
    • Select the correct Invoices (items) to be Paid.


  • Allocate the Payment by:
    • Entering the amount in the Received column against the correct Invoice (item).
    • Pressing F7 or clicking on the Automark Patient (F7) button.
  • Press Tab
    • The Invoice (item) line will turn blue.
    • Repeat the process until all the amounts have been captured and the Balance = R0.00.
    • Click on Done (F2), Done (F2) again, Continue (F2), Exit and Post (F2).  Alternatively, press (F2) a few times until the receipt screen disappear.


  • A Payment can also be captured by clicking on the Detail (F8) button or pressing F2.
  • Capture the Payment with a negative (-) amount in the Receipts column.
  • Discounts, Write-offs and Other Journals can also be captured on this screen;
    • A negative amount on this screen will make the account less.
  • The dark blue Columns are read-only.
    • M = Medical Aid (Blue).
    • P = Patient (Grey).
  • To Allocate = the amount that still needs to be allocated.
  • Balance = the amount that has been allocated already.
  • In the example below, the amount received from the patient reflects in the Receipts column and the discount in the Discount column.
  • The Balance column to the right of each item is the balance after the amount received has been allocated.


  • Click on OK (F2).
  • Click on Done (F2).
  • Click on Done (F2) (again).
  • Click on Continue (F2).
  • Click on Exit.
  • Click on Post (F2).
  • Alternatively, Press (F2) a few times until the Receipt screen disappear.
