Types of Modifiers
- Addition Modifier:
- When a modifier add value, by using a percentage value or a unit value, to a procedure code, this modifier should be quoted on a separate line with its own value
- Compound Modifier:
- Modifiers that must be posted on a separate line with its own value but also indicated on each procedure code's line where it is applied.
- Information Modifier:
- When a modifier serves to add additional information to procedure code and has no financial value, this must be quoted on the same line as the procedure.
- Reduction Modifier:
- When a modifier reduces the value, by using a percentage value or a unit value, of a procedure code, this modifier should be quoted on the same line as the procedure code.
