Using Modifiers in GoodX

  • When billing Procedures and Modifiers in GoodX you need to use a logical order of Billing.
  • PLEASE NOTE: THAT IS IS ONLY EXAMPLES AND IS NOT USED FOR ACTUAL BILLING AND IF YOU REQUIRE MORE INFORMATION ON HOW TO BILL YOUR ACCOUNTS PLEASE CONTACT THE SOUTH AFRICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (SAMA).
The most logical order to bill your Procedure Codes and Modifiers is to bill the codes in the following order:
    • Pre-assessment
    • Consultation
    • Preceding code and then your
    • Modifier
Any Modifier that you need to specify any information like time or weight, should pop up another screen where can add that information and then the amount will be worked out.

  • GoodX does all the calculations for the Modifier you just need to bill it in a logical order and specify the extra information when needed

  • This is an example for an Anaesthesiologist:

    • Pre-anesthetic assessment (0151) by clicking on the procedure code.
    • Unscheduled Emergency (0147)
    • Procedure code like (0429) Fracture: Tibia, with or without fibula (reduction under the general anesthetic)
    • Modifier: (5442) Musculo-skeletal system: modifiers governing anesthetic fees for orthopedic operations

  • Modifier: (0023) Anaesthetic Time. This is a time modifier so another screen will pop up where you can specify the start and end time.

  • Modifier: (0011) Emergency Procedures. This is a time modifier so another screen will pop up where you can specify the start and end time.
