Clinical Screen Sidebar: How to Use the Discovery HealthID
Discovery Health ID button make the accessibility easier to verify a Discovery patient's validity on Discovery Medical Aid and to confirm benefits available on the current plan.
The user manual will consist of the following:
- Accessing the Discovery HealthID button
- Accessing a patient's profile on HealthID
- Requesting consent to view Patient's health records on HealthID

Requesting consent via SMS
- Log in to the GoodX WebApp using your GoodX username and password.
- The Diary screen will open.

- Click on the Patient's booking to open the Diary Sidebar.

- Click on the Clinical button in the Diary Sidebar.

- The Clinical screen will open.

- Click on the Discovery HealthID button on the Clinical Sidebar to verify if the patient have an active plan with Discovery Health.

- The Health ID login screen will open.

Accessing a patient's profile on HealthID
- Once logged into the HealthID:
- The patient's landing page will appear on the HealthID, and the patient's details initially accessed from GoodX.
- Please Note: A Patient's profile cannot be accessed without consent from The Patient.
Requesting consent to view Patient's health records on HealthID
Discovery HealthID can only be used and accessed for Patients who has given consent to view the Patient's record.
- The Request Consent Pop-up will appear.
- Two options is available to request consent form the Patient:
- Send a request via SMS, or
- Send request via the Discovery website.
- Once an option has been selected, click on the Send Request button.
Requesting consent via SMS
- If the consent via SMS request has been made, a unique one-time pin (OTP) will be sent to The Patient.
- Once the request has been successfully sent, a screen will display where you can enter the OTP number sent to The Patient.
- If the OTP entered is correct, the pop-up will disappear and you will be able to access the Patient’s information.
- If the OTP entered is incorrect, the pop-up will display a message informing the Patient that the request has not been successful. At this stage, the OTP can be resend or, alternatively, request consent via the Discovery website.
Requesting consent via the Discovery website:
- If the Patient have selected to request consent via the Discovery website, an email will be sent to the patient.
- If the request is successfully sent, a message will display on the HealthID screen to inform you that the request was successfully sent.
- Once the successfully sent message has shown, you will not be able to view the patient’s records yet. You will have to close the HealthID tab and continue using GoodX until the patient has given consent on the Discovery website.
