How to Use the Allergies Subpanel
Patients may suffer from a variety of allergies, including Drug Allergies, Natural Allergies as well as Chemical Allergies, which are triggered by the consumption of specific foods or medicines. It is critical for a Practitioner to be aware of these allergies in order to provide the best care possible whilst avoiding a flare-up of these allergies.
- The contents of this user manual will consist of the following:
- Drug Classes
- Natural Allergies
- Chemical Allergies
- This user manual will start on the General Examination form, Physical Examination panel.
- For more information regarding the General Examination form, please refer to the user manual: General Examination Overview.
- Click on the Physical Examination panel.
- The Physical Examination panel will expand.
- Click on the History sub-panel.
- The History sub-panel will expand.
- The Allergies panel consists of 3 different sections. Drug Classes, Natural Allergies and Chemical Allergies.
Drug Classes
Drug Classes are the groups of medications that the Patient is unable to take because of their allergy. For example, when being treated for an infection, the Practitioner will be unable to prescribe anything from the Penicillin class of antibiotics if the Patient has a Penicillin allergy.
- Click on the Choose... drop-down menu to select an appropriate option.
- Select an option from the Drug Classes list that has become available.
- A text box will open with the chosen selection as its name. The text box is a free text field that allows the Practitioner to make any notes regarding the chosen Drug Classes.
Natural Allergies
Natural Allergies consist of naturally occurring substances found in general everyday life, such as house dust or latex. Often times medication consists of these naturally occurring substances.
- Click on the Choose... drop-down menu to select an appropriate option.
- Select an option from the Natural Allergies list that has become available.
- A text box will open with the chosen selection as its name. The text box is a free text field that allows the Practitioner to make any notes regarding the chosen Natural Allergies.
Chemical Allergies
Allergies that relate to the exposure of chemicals.
- Click on the Choose... drop-down menu to select an appropriate option.
- Select an option from the Chemical Allergies list that has become available.
- A text box will open with the chosen selection as its name. The text box is a free text field that allows the Practitioner to make any notes regarding the chosen Chemical Allergies.
- Click on the Close button to exit the Clinical screen without saving.

- Click on the Save and Close drop-up arrow for more options:

- Click on the Save button to save the information captured on the form.
- Click on the Save Lines To New Macro button to save the lines captured as a Macro.
- Click on Save and Close to save the form or the changes made.
