Script: EMGuidance
EMGuidance is a mobile and web-based medicines and treatment platform for medical professionals. South Africa's most comprehensive, evidence-based medicines resource. This is an essential guideline to assist practitioners with prescribing accurately,
check contraindications and cautions, check medicine interactions, view suitable paediatric and adult dosages, adverse reactions and what the medication does.
Please Note: The Practitioners email address and practice number will need to be up to date on the system, to check and edit the email address please refer to the user manual: Treating Doctor Setup. An EMGuidance account will need to be set up in order to use this function, please visit their website to create an account: EMGuidance.
- To create a script and see where to access EMGuidance from GoodX Web, please follow the steps on the user manual: Basic Script Features.
- On the script screen:
- Hover over the Gear button in the script line next to the Medicine field.
- A Diagnosis/Medicine Item will need to be added before the gear button will work.
- The Script Line Actions pop-out will appear.
- Click on the EMGuidance button.

- To use EMGuiguidance when creating a script, the Force Doctor on Invoice setting will need to be on, to set this up please refer to the user manual: User Entity Settings:
General Settings.
- If the settings have not been set up to allow the Web page to open, an Attention message will pop up to advise the user thereof.
- Click on Ok to dismiss the message.
- If the settings have been set up:
- A new tab will open in the web browser and will redirect the user to the EMGuidance website.
- The Log In screen will open if the user has not previously logged in.
- If the user has previously logged into the EMGuidance website the Discover screen will open when the user clicks on the EMGuidance button as indicated above.
