ERA Settings
Entity Settings are set per Entity and not per user to customize the program to the specific needs of the Practice. The entity settings will determine how functions are set up and work per entity.
ERA: Electronic Remittance Advice is a way of importing receipts captured by the Medical Aids against Debtors or cases into GoodX in a structured way. The purpose of setting up your ERA settings will allow the Doctor to receive ERA's from
Medical Aids after submitting claims.
- From the Diary screen, click on the Settings button in the top right corner.
- Click on Entity Settings
- Click on the ERA Settings Panel.
- Short Payment Action: this is the action that will apply after the medical aid paid a claim short. The cut-off amount (rule) will apply here. You can select one of 3 options from the drop-down.
- Do Nothing: this option will leave the amount under medical aid when the medical aid paid a claim short.
- Shift to Patient or Discount/Write off: this option will move the short paid amount to the patient liable side and/or discount/write off the amount
- Shift to Patient only: this option will move the short paid amount to the patient liable side
- Cut-off Amount: this option will allow you to choose an amount eg. R5 and the system will action all amounts above the chosen amount to the Short Payment Action that you've selected. When there's an amount completed here the amount will apply
to the short payment action and the settlement discount account.
- Bad Debt Account: you need to choose the correct expenditure ledger account for the bad debt amounts from the drop-down list. This is the expenditure ledger account in which the bad debt journals will post to.
- Settlement Discount Account: you need to choose the correct expenditure account for the settlement discount amounts from the drop-down list. This is the expenditure account in which the settlement discount journals will post to. The
cut-off amount (rule) will apply here
- Click on Save to save the new Settings.
- Click on Close to exit the Settings screen without saving.
