Clinical Procedures Settings
Billing Settings are set per Entity to customize the program to the specific needs of the Practice. The purpose of the Billing settings is to set up the billing-related settings for the Practice to make their billing experience quick and easy by using pre-setup Macro's, Clinical Procedures and Script Macro's.
The purpose of Clinical Procedures:
- Clinical Procedure Macros are used as a tool to capture commonly used Procedures as a combination in the Billing screen. Procedure macros are used for procedures that have the same base codes but differ in some cases for eg. Wound Closure, the wound could be sutured, glued or stapled. This will make billing very quick and save the Doctor time. Before the Macros can be used, it needs to be set up first.
To access the Settings:
- From the Diary screen, click on the Settings button in the top right corner.
- Click on Billing Settings.
TAKE NOTE: The Dental Billing Settings will ONLY appear on the Dental Entity. It will not be visible on ANY other entity.
- Click on the Clinical Procedures Settings.
- (+) Add New Procedure: Procedure macros are used for procedures that have the same base codes but differ in some cases for eg. Wound Closure, the wound could be sutured, glued or stapled. Click on the Add New Procedure button to create a new Procedure Macro.
- Import Template: Users can upload clinical procedures safely and securely to the GoodXWeb cloud for the purpose of sharing with other GoodXWeb partners. This will also allow users to collaborate by sharing their clinical procedures via the Import Templates section.

- Code: This is the unique code that will be used when billing the macro. The Doctor can set any shortcut code here to make it easy to bill the macro. Example, a wound closure the code can be WCL or WOCL. Anything that the Doctor prefers.
- Description: This is the description (name) of the macro (the macro can be searched for with the code or description). The description will be the name of the macro for example WOUND CLOSURE.
- Add Line: This will add a new line to the base codes that will be used in the macro irrespective of the type of procedure.
- The initial codes that would be set up are the codes that would remain the same for all types of wound closures for eg. 0190 (consultation), 0146 (emergency), 0202 (sterile tray), 0201 (alcohol prep pad).
- Add Option: The type of procedure can be added under the options, the options would all have different types of codes specific to that type of procedure.
- The different types of wound closure and their unique billing codes would then have to be chosen and added as per the example below.
- These Clinical Procedure Macros will be used in the General Examination Form.
