Key Bindings
Why Use This Function:
Key Bindings are specific assignments of keyboard keys to particular commands or actions within the GoodX Web that can be used as shortcuts to your favourite forms and most used screens as well as to navigate the screen you are on. They allow you to perform tasks quickly and efficiently without relying on menus or mouse navigation. Key Bindings are fundamental to enhancing productivity.
💡Please Note: User Settings always override Entity Settings.

- This user manual will start on the Diary screen.
- Click on the Settings button in the top right corner.

- The Settings screen will open on the User Settings tab.
- Click on the Key Bindings panel.
- The Key Bindings panel will expand.
Disabled Key Bindings
A list of Key Bindings that you don't want to use.
- Click on the Description field to enter the name of the shortcut keys that you do not want to use, to add them to the list.
💡Please Note: These are shortcuts that are already set up on your computer that might interfere with the program or your operating system, for example, ctrl+c is a universal shortcut for copy.
- Click on the Add button to add the item to the list of Disabled Key Bindings.
- The added Key Binding will be to the Disabled Key Bindings list.
- Click on the Delete button to remove the Key Binding from the Disabled Key Bindings list.
Key Bindings for Clinical Screen
Shortcuts to your favourite Clinical Events.- Click on the Select Event Type... drop-down menu to select a Clinical Event for which you want to create a shortcut key.
💡Please Note: The Clinical Events on the list are the ones that have been set up at your Practice.
- The Clinical Event will be added to the Key Bindings for Clinical Screen list.
- Click on the Delete button to remove the Key Binding from the Key Bindings for Clinical Screen list.
- The Clinical Event will also be added to the Clinical Screen section of the Key Bindings list, where the set-up of the shortcut can be done.
- Click on the corresponding <None> button.
- The Enter Keystrokes screen will open.
- Press the Keys on the keyboard that you want to set for this Clinical Event.
- The text on the button will change to show what the shortcut is.
Key Bindings
A list of shortcuts that have been set up and the system default shortcuts that can be used.- Click on the Reset to Defaults button to revert all the Key Bindings to the system default.
- Click on the correlating button to make changes to the current shortcut.
- The Enter Keystrokes screen will open.
- Click on the <None> button to remove the current shortcut.
- Alternatively, Press the Keys on the keyboard that you want to change this shortcut to.
- The text on the button will change to show what the shortcut has changed to.
- Tick/Untick the correlating checkbox to enable/disable the shortcut.
💡Please Note: Descriptions of what each shortcut is used for will be displayed to the left of the corresponding Key Bindings, for example, Open Invoice in the Billing Screen section will open an Invoice.
- Click on the Save button to save all the changes that you have made.
