External Program Launchers
Why Use This Function:
Enabling the External Program Launchers allows the Practitioner to access a multitude of external programs. A Practitioner can launch an external program from within the GoodX Web App, such as the Kodak X-ray machine. The radiograph can then be uploaded and stored on the GoodX WebApp.

Setup
The External Program Launcher needs to be setup and allows you to configure integrations between the GoodX Web App and third-party applications such as imaging software and laboratory systems. By setting up the launcher, you can open external programs directly from within the Web App, streamlining workflow and reducing time spent switching between systems. Proper configuration ensures that files or data captured in external applications are accurately linked to the correct Patient File or booking, maintaining consistency across all related records.- Click on the Entity Settings tab.

- Click on the External Program Launchers panel.

- The External Program Launchers panel will expand.

- Click on the Add a New Protocol button to add a new External Program.

- Additional fields will appear where a new external program can be added.

- An explanation will be given for each additional field:
- #: The Hash field shows the order in which the External Program Launchers have been created. The order of creation has no effect on the External Program Launchers.
- Protocol: The name of the External Program.

- Description: The name of the associated External Program Launcher that will appear on the External Program button.

- Display: Where the External Program button will be shown in the system.

- Tick/Untick the corresponding checkbox for where you would like the External Program button to be displayed.
- Click the Remove Protocol button to remove the protocol.

- Click on the Select Default External Program drop-down menu to select which one of the listed External Programs will display on the Diary sidebar.
- Select an option from the list that has become available:

💡 Please Note: The options available in the drop-down menu will depend on what protocols you have already set up.
- Click on the Select Default External Program drop-down menu to select an appropriate option.
- Select an option from the list that has become available:

- Click on the Save button to save any changes made and return to the Diary screen.

Activation and Use
After completing the setup, you must still activate the display of the External Program Launchers button for it to appear on the Diary sidebar and Clinical screens. Once enabled, the system will allow authorised Personnel to launch approved third-party applications directly from within the GoodX Web App, ensuring seamless access and integration across platforms.
- Navigate to the User Settings tab, and Click on the General Settings panel.
- The General Settings panel will expand.

- Tick the External Programs checkbox to enable the External Programs button on your Diary sidebar and Dental screen.
- Click on the Save button.
- The External Program button will now display in the Diary sidebar.
