Stock: Moving away from Bins, using new function Counting Locations 7.8 (Desktop App)

Stock: Moving away from a Bin structure, using a new function Counting Locations:

  • Use Bin as Counting Location.
  • Bin structure was used to show the Item Movement.
  • Counting Locations is only applicable for Stock take purposes, and does not play a role in the Item Movement.
  • Warehouses are now used to indicate the Item Movement and financial value to certain departments.
  • Counting Locations:
    • A physical place where stock items are placed.
    • The item can be placed in multiple counting locations.
    • The items can be set up in the correct sequence of the shelf or drawer.
    • An example is "Ward Stockroom - Shelf 1".
    • The Counting locations assist in Stocktakes, to ease the process.
  • NOTE: The stock counting sheets will work easily when you have 1 sheet per location. That means not more than 25 items in each location. This will make counting easier. And allow more persons to assist in the counting process.
  • Bins:
    • Is a place where stock items are placed.
    • You can also call the bin as a basket or shelf.
    • The item can only be placed in one bin (Place).
    • Transfers must be used to indicate that the stock was used.
    • Bins will be used for filling up certain places and to keep a record of how many times did you fill up the place.
    • Bins need admin work to keep this up to date.
