Stock: Moving away from Bins, using new function Counting Locations 7.8 (Desktop App)
Stock: Moving away from a Bin structure, using a new function Counting Locations:
- Use Bin as Counting Location.
- Bin structure was used to show the Item Movement.
- Counting Locations is only applicable for Stock take purposes, and does not play a role in the Item Movement.
- Warehouses are now used to indicate the Item Movement and financial value to certain departments.
- Counting Locations:
- A physical place where stock items are placed.
- The item can be placed in multiple counting locations.
- The items can be set up in the correct sequence of the shelf or drawer.
- An example is "Ward Stockroom - Shelf 1".
- The Counting locations assist in Stocktakes, to ease the process.
- NOTE: The stock counting sheets will work easily when you have 1 sheet per location. That means not more than 25 items in each location. This will make counting easier. And allow more persons to assist in the counting process.
- Bins:
- Is a place where stock items are placed.
- You can also call the bin as a basket or shelf.
- The item can only be placed in one bin (Place).
- Transfers must be used to indicate that the stock was used.
- Bins will be used for filling up certain places and to keep a record of how many times did you fill up the place.
- Bins need admin work to keep this up to date.
