DA: Create a New Hospital Case
A new Case can be created for the patient that is being admitted to the hospital/day clinic/rehab for treatment of a condition or to undergo a certain procedure.
- Click on the "Cases" button
- Click on the "New Admission" button to open a new case
- If the debtor has already been created, choose the correct patient and click OK
- If the case is for a new patient/debtor Click on the "+" and follow the link "How to add a Debtor".
The Case screen is now open:
- Complete the Admission date/time
- Complete the Discharge date/time if the discharge date is known
- If you don't know the discharge date and time at this stage just remove it and keep the field clear/empty. The Admission and discharge date and time should never be the same
- Choose the Procedure
- Admitting Procedure is the reason why the patient is admitted or the procedure that will be performed on the patient. You can add more by clicking on the "+"
- Choose the Treating (admitting) Doctor
This treating/admitting doctor is very important because when you EDI, the system will send this doctor's information and not the one that you captured before in the debtor screen. It will also be this doctor's information that will print on the case print out.
- The staff sheet is used to add all the staff members that are involved with the patient e.g. Admitting Doctor, Anaesthetist, Assistant, House Doctor, Surgeon or any other therapist you want to record.
TAKE NOTE: Don't add the Treating Doctor again: this will result in a claim that can't EDI
- You can add members to this sheet, for example, Nurses, Assistants etc.
- Click on the add button or press [F10]
- Choose the staff member and the role of the staff member you want to add.
- Add the CPT4 and the ICD10 codes.
- Click on the add CPT4 button or press [Ctrl & F10] to add the CPT4 code
- The Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set is a medical code set that describes medical, surgical, and diagnostic services and is designed to communicate uniform information about medical services and procedures among physicians, coders, patients, accreditation organizations.
- Click on the add CICD10 button or press [Ctrl & F11] to add the ICD10 code
- ICD-10 is the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD), a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO). It contains codes for diseases, signs and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances, and external causes of injury or diseases.
- Enter the Authorization details and click Add
Authorisation details include:
- Auth. Code
- Date From
- Date To
- Amount
- Auth. Contact
- Auth. Date
- Open the Theatre Sheet on the Case Information screen to open theatre sheet
- Click on the Ctrl & F10 button to add your theatre times
- You can Add Time, Update Time and Delete Time
- Choose the Correct Theatre
- Click on OK
TAKE NOTE:
- Click [F2] or on SAVE
when all available information was captured.
- You can return later to complete or edit information.
- Your progress will be saved.
