DA: Billing Class or Dispensing Method
Billing Classes or Dispensing methods should be linked to each stock item in hospital billing. The Dispensing Method is the classification of your stock. For example, if you bill medication you have to specify if it is TTO (to take out) medicine or ward medicine.
TAKE NOTE: that you need to classify each stock item that you invoice.
The classification will go through with the claim to the medical aids. Ensure the classification is correct on each item to minimize rejections on certain items.
The dispensing method can be chosen while billing an item and after billing an item on the account screen before the claim is sent to the medical aids.
The following Classifications will be used:
- Ward Stock: Stock that is given or used to/on a patient in the wards
- Theatre Stock: Stock that is given or used to/on a patient while in theatre
- TTO: To Take out. The stock that is given to the patient with discharge.
- Pharmacy: Medication that needs a prescription while the patient is in the hospital. Scheduled medication.
- Prosthesis: Prosthetic is an artificial device that replaces a missing body part, the prosthetic is an implant the patient needs.
- PPE: Personal protective equipment. The stock that is used to protect the practitioner or the patient against any illnesses or injuries.
Changes that were made in the system:
- Existing billing class descriptions are changed to "STOCK", and will no longer be "MEDICATION". The Billing class is also known as the "Dispensing Method".
