Peri-Operative Management (Web App)

The Theatre Manager will assist the Practice in managing their Theatre bookings. The bookings can be made in the diary and you will be able to print or download the theatre list from these bookings. The Doctor can either keep the theatre bookings on a separate diary or block out the times for Theatre in their current daily diary. You will have to Enable and Set up the Theatre Manager and the theatre bookings in the settings and then create the theatre list for it to display in the diary. 

A Surgeon is a Doctor who specialises in a certain Medical field and treats conditions that may require Surgery. The Surgeon is the Doctor who will perform the Surgery on the Patient.

A Doctor who specialises in anaesthesia is known as an Anesthesiologist. The Anesthesiologist is a Doctor who specialises in perioperative care, anaesthetic planning, anaesthetic administration and will administer the anaesthesia in Theatre together with the Surgeon.

• The contents of this User Manual will consist of the following information:
• Add a Surgeon / Anaesthesiologist through Medibase
  
• Add a Surgeon / Anaesthesiologist Manually

• Log in to the GoodX WebApp using your GoodX username and password.
• The Diary main screen will open.

• From the Navigation bar, click on the Hospital tab.

• From the drop-down menu, click on the Theatre Manager option.

• The Theatre Manager screen will open. The user will create and manage the Doctors Theatre List from the Theatre Manager screen.
  

Add a New Theatre List

• Click on the Add Theater List button to add a new Theatre List.

• The Theatre List Workflow Event screen will open where you can add all the details for the specific Theatre day.

There are TWO ways to add a Surgeon or Anesthesiologist:

Add a Surgeon / Anesthesiologist through Medibase

You can add a Surgeon or Anesthesiologist. If they are added onto the GoodX system, you can use the Search Filter to select the Doctor or add the Surgeon via the Medibase function. If the Search or Medibase options are not used, the user can Manually add the Surgeon or Anesthesiologist.

• Click on the + button next to the Surgeon field to search for an existing Surgeon through Medibase.

• An Attention! pop up will open. The user can select a method here on how to search for the Surgeon that you want to add. 

• Click on the Insert details from external source button to add a Surgeon from Medibase.

• The Medibase Search screen will open. 

• You can apply filters to make the search easier to find the Surgeon you are looking for within a certain Speciality or Range from the Hospital / Day Clinic you are doing the Theatre session at.

• After selecting the Speciality, you can search for a Location via Google Maps of the Hospital / Day Clinic the Theatre session will take place, to filter the Surgeons in and around that specific area.

• Once the search is complete, and the Surgeons is filtered, select the applicable Surgeon you want to add to the Theater List. 

• Click on the Select button at the bottom of the screen to select the Surgeon and add them to the Theatre List.

• All the necessary / required information for the Surgeon will pull through from Medibase and save in the Theatre list.  

Add a Surgeon / Anesthesiologist Manually

If the Search or Medibase options are not used, the user can Manually add the Surgeon or Anesthesiologist.

• Click on the + button next to the Surgeon field to add a Surgeon manually. 

• An Attention! pop up will open. The user can select a method here on how to search for the Surgeon that you want to add. 

• Click on the Insert details manually button to add a Surgeon manually by completing the Surgeons personal information yourself.

• Complete the personal information for the Surgeon that you want to add to the Theatre List. 
  

• Title: The title the Surgeon goes by, make a selection from the drop-down list. 
• Initials: The first letter of each first name of the Surgeon. 
• Surname: The Surgeons Surname.
• Practice Nr: The practice number of the Surgeon as registered with the HPCSA and BHF.
• SAMDC: The Surgeons registration number from the South African Medical and Dental Council.
• Email: An address where electronic mails can be sent to the Surgeon.
• Cell Nr: Cellphone number where the Surgeon can be reached. 
• Address: The physical address where the Surgeon can be found or where their Practice is located at. 

• Click on the Remove button if you want to delete the Surgeon details.

Please Note: The same process can be followed to Add an Anaesthesiologist as explained above with the Surgeon. This is not a required option to add one. Only where applicable.
