Transferring a Patient to a New Ward/Bed

The most common reason for transferring a Patient to another Ward is when they were in ICU and need to be transferred to a regular Ward because their health improved, or when they need to be transferred from a regular Ward to ICU, because the Patient became weaker. 

When a Patient requests to transfer to another bed, it is usually because they are dissatisfied with their current bed.

  • The contents of this user manual will consist of the following information:
    • Transfer a Patient to another Ward and Bed
    • Transfer a Patient to another Ward and Bed which is full - Warning Message (No Bed Available in Ward)
  • This user manual will start on the Case Management screen.

  • Click on the Bed Management tab.


  • The Bed Management screen will open.

  • There are two main reasons to Transfer a Patient in Hospital:
    • Transfer a Patient to another Ward and Bed.
    • Transfer a Patient to another Bed in the same Ward.

Transfer a Patient to another Ward and Bed
Patient's can be transferred to another bed. There are several reasons why patient's get transferred to other beds, for example: Their condition has worsened and need to be moved to the ICU.

  • Click on the Transfer Case button of the Patient that needs to be transferred to another Ward.

    • The Transfer Case screen will open.


      • Click on the Ward drop-down menu to select the Ward the Patient will be transferred to.


      • Click on the Bed drop down-menu to select the bed the Patient will be transferred to.


      • Click on the Save button to save and transfer the Patient.


      • The Patient has been successfully transferred.



Transfer a Patient to another Ward and Bed which is full - Warning Message (No Bed Available in Ward)

When a Patient is transferred to a Ward that is full, a warning message will appear. 

  • Click on the Transfer Case button on the current Patient's hospital bed, to transfer the Pattient to a new bed.

    • The Transfer Case screen will open.


      • Select the Ward the Patient will be transferred to. 


Please Note: If the Ward is full the Bed field will indicate that there are no empty beds available in the selected Ward.

Please Note: The Patient's case can also be transferred by dragging and dropping to a different Ward.
