WA : EDI Response

An EDI response is the Medicals aids response for the claim sent through the Switch to indicate whether the Medical aid will pay for the claim or not.

Waiting list

A Waiting List is a list that is kept for patients that needs appointments with the practitioner, but the practitioner does not have open time slots to help the patient. 

The Patient waits on the Waiting list until there's an open space/timeslot.

Waiting room

A Waiting Room is where the patient sits and wait for the practitioner to be seen or helped.

When a patient is marked on the electronic dairy the patient will be allocated to the Waiting Room where the Practitioner can view all the patients that are sitting in reception or in the waiting area to been seen by him/her.

The time the booking was for and the time when the patient has arrived at the practice will be indicated in the waiting room function in GoodX.

Walk-in Patient

A Walk-in Patient is a patient that does not have an appointment and came to the practice in hopes of being seen by the Doctor.



Warehouse

A Warehouse is a big place/building where different stock items are held.

This can be your whole practice.

Or it can be a storeroom with a lot of different items in it.

You will have to do the patient billing according to your warehouses.


WCA - Disease Progress or Final Report

The Workmans Compensation Act is an Act that has been initiated to assist the company and individuals if disablement occurs due to accidents or industrial diseases contracted in the workplace during the course of the employee's employment.

The WCA - Disease Progress or Final report will be completed and submitted after the practitioner has done the initial consultation to determine whether the patient has stabilised and is able to return to work or not and whether they need to change their occupation based on the practitioner's findings. The form will also be used to track the progress should there be a possibility that the outcome of their current findings could change.

WCA - Final Report

The WCA Final Report will only be completed and submitted after the practitioner has done the initial Injury on Duty consultation, when the WCA - First Report was completed or after all follow-ups were documented with WCA - Follow up reports, depending on the circumstances and severity of the IOD. The practitioner has concluded their findings and everything has been done to ensure that the patient is healthy or that there is nothing further that can be done medically for the patient.

WCA - First Report

When an employee has an accident, is injured or contracts an occupational disease on duty and needs to be compensated for medical treatments, reports need to be filled in and other supporting documents of the practitioners findings need to be submitted to the Workmans Compensation Fund.

The WCA First Report will be the first document that must be completed by the practitioner with all the details relating to the incident. All supporting documents must accompany the claim when it is submitted. The doctor will need to state whether the patient needs to go for any X-rays, blood tests, operations, see other health care providers or specialists if a follow up is needed and whether they are fit to return to work.

WCA - Follow Up

The WCA Follow-Up Report will be completed and submitted after the initial Injury on Duty consultation when the WCA - First Report was completed and the practitioner came to the conclusion that there is a need for a follow-up consultation. The report will state whether the patient has improved since the first consultation and whether the patient has needed to undergo further tests, surgeries and treatments in order for their condition to become stabilised.
