Secure Message

A secure message is private, encrypted communication that ensures sensitive information can only be accessed by authorised recipients. It is especially valuable when confidentiality is critical. Secure messaging protects Patient data, Financial records, and other private information from being intercepted or misused.

The benefits of Secure Messages include enhanced privacy, compliance with laws like POPIA and GDPR, and reduced risk of data breaches. It also allows for secure file sharing, which can only be accessed through the myGC Patient portal.

Self Service Check In (New Patient)

New Patients can use the kiosk at the Practice to search for and view their Practitioner bookings using Face ID. This facial recognition technology securely verifies their identity by analysing and matching facial features against a stored image database, enabling quick and accurate access to their appointment information.

Sending Text Messages on a Telemed Call

You have the ability to send text messages to the Practitioner during a Telemed call. For security reasons, the history of these text messages will not be saved and the messages can only be seen by those on the call. The ability to use text messaging within the call can enhance communication clarity, facilitate the sharing of resource links and medication instructions, and assist in situations where the Patient has hearing impairments or the audio quality is poor.

Set Access Rights

Setting access rights on myGC is an important step in ensuring your medical information remains secure and only accessible to the right people. Before a booking, you can approve or deny the Practitioner’s access to your medical history. By managing these rights, you help protect your privacy while still allowing healthcare professionals to deliver informed and effective care when needed.

Syncing a myGC Booking to a Calendar

Syncing a Booking with your digital calendar Google Calendar or iCalendar, ensures that your appointment is automatically saved to your personal diary, helping you stay organised and reducing the risk of missed appointments. This function is beneficial for both the Patient and the Practitioner, as it supports better time management, improves attendance rates, and enhances overall communication and efficiency within the Practice.

💡Please Note: In order to be able to add a Booking to your calendar, a Booking will first need to be created. For more info on how to make a Booking, please refer to the user manuals: How to Make a Booking as a Non-Registered User (Logged Out) and How to Make Bookings Once Logged In.

You are able to add your Booking to the calendar of your choice from several places in myGC where you see the Add to Calendar button.
