Invoice Screen: Prescription Line Items

Why Use This Function:

Prescription Line Items allow Practitioners with a dispensing licence to accurately add Medicine Items to an Invoice, including directions for use and the number of days the medication is supplied. This manual guides you through selecting generic options, accessing EMGuidance for evidence-based prescribing information, and entering prescription details efficiently. Following these steps ensures your prescriptions are complete, accurate, and safe, while saving time and maintaining clear records on the Invoice.

💡Please Note: Practitioners will need to be signed up for an EMGuidance account to use the EMGuidance feature on the Invoice. 


  • This user manual will start with the EMGuidance details, which will be displayed in the middle of the Invoice screen once a GMED code has been added to an Invoice Line.


  • Click on the Generic button to search for a possible generic item.


    • The Generic Medications screen will open, with generic options available for the Medicine item that was added to the Invoice.


        • Click on the desired option to make a selection.


          • Click on the Save button to save the changes. 



          💡Please Note: The Generic Item will replace the item that was initially added.



          • Click on the EMGuidance button to be redirected to the EMGuidance website.

            💡Please Note: Practitioners will need to be signed up for an EMGuidance account to use the EMGuidance feature on the Invoice.

            • Click on the Days Supplied field to add the desired number of days the medication is to be supplied.



            • Click on the Signata field to enter the desired directions for use.


            💡Please Note: 
            You are able to use the default Prescription Codes set up in the Desktop App. Shortcodes allow Practitioners to create and use preset directions, most frequently used to save time while creating the prescription. For more information on how to set up Prescription Codes in the Desktop App, please refer to the user manual: Prescription Codes

            • Below you can find an example of some of the shortcodes used:
              • 1D: Take once per day
              • 2D: Take twice per day
              • 8H: Take every eight hours
              • 10H: Take every ten hours
              • /MB: Take half a medicine measure twice per day
