Macros (Billing combinations) With Modifiers

A combination is also known as a Macro, Basket or Protocol. This is a set of stock, procedures and/or consultations that are always used for a specific treatment. The combination is set up for a treatment with the necessary items and tariff codes. Using Macros saves time and assists with fast and efficient billing.

The Practitioner will bill the Modifier code and apply it to the applicable procedure codes. A Modifier allows the Practitioner to indicate that a service or procedure that has been performed has been altered by specific circumstances but has not changed in its definition or code.

Macros can now be set up with modifiers, which makes the billing process of procedures with modifiers more sufficient and saves the user time during billing.

    • The contents of this User Manual will consist of the following information:
      • Setup of Combinations/Macros with Modifiers
      • Setup of Combinations/Macros with an Assistant Modifier
    • Log in to the GoodX WebApp using your GoodX username and password.
    • The Diary screen will open.

    Setup of Combinations/Macros with Modifiers

    • On the New Macro Panel, in this example, we will use the new combination that has been set up: STI01, Stitching of Soft Tissue. The user is able to Add Modifiers to the combination as they would do when using Modifiers when billing regular items.

    • Click on the Blue Modifier button next to the Modifier line to allocate a Modifier to a line item.

    • Click on the Blue Modifier button next to the Assistant line Item, to allocate line items to the Assistant Modifier.

      • The Modifier screen will open where the user is able to select the Invoice line items to which the Modifier will be applied.

      • Tick the checkbox of the corresponding line item that the Assistant Modifier will be applied to.

      • Click on the Assistant drop-down menu in the Assistant Modifier section to allocate an Assistant to the procedure. This is not compulsory and can be selected from the Invoice screen.

        • Select an option from the list that has become available. The list of Assistants that will appear will depend on the setup of the practice. To set up an Assistant please refer to the user manual: Add an Assisting Doctor.
Please Note: If an Assistant Modifier is billed on the invoice screen and no default Assistant was added to the combination, when it was set up, the user will be prompted to add an Assistant before the combination can be added to the Invoice.

      • Click on the OK button to save the selection that has been made.
