Forgot Your Password


Forgot your password allows a user to reset their password if it has been forgotten. The password can be reset by either using the Mobile Number or the Email Address that was used when the user first signed up.

  • Navigate to the myGC website: mygc.co.za from the web browser.


  • The myGC landing page will open.


  • Click on Log In in the top right corner.


  • The Log In page will open.

  • Click on Forgot your password.

 

  • The Reset Your Password screen will open.



  • Choose a reset option, it is only necessary to select between one of the following options:
    • Via SMS: The password will be reset via SMS using the cellphone number that was used with signup to reset the password.
      • Click on the Mobile Number field and input the cellphone number.


    • Via Email: The password will be reset via Email using the email address that was used with signup to reset the password.
      • Click on the Email Address field and input the Email address. 


  • Click on Send to send further instructions to the desired Cellphone Number or Email address that was entered.


  • A Notice pop up will appear to advise that a Link has been sent with further instructions. 


  • Click on Okay to acknowledge the message and close the pop-up to return to the login page.


  • The user will receive a link with further instructions to reset their password either via SMS or Email depending on the reset option that was selected.


    • Click on the link: Click here to reset your password.

    • The user will be redirected to the Reset Password Page.

      • Click on the Password field to input and confirm a new password. 

      • Click on the Eye icon to reveal the password to ensure that password that is entered is correct.

        • Click on the Eye icon a second time to hide the password again.
Please Note: Passwords must be at least 8 characters and must contain at least 1 numeric character.

      • Click on Submit to change the password.

      • The user will be redirected back to the myGC Landing Page and they are then able to use the new password to Log in.
