Using HealthID from GoodX:
- HealthID and GoodX have integrated. This means that you can now use your GoodX medical practice management software to view your Discovery Health patient’s electronic health records on HealthID and access additional HealthID tools.
- This document tells you how to access HealthID from GoodX.
What is HealthID:
- Discovery HealthID is a tool that could help healthcare practitioners prevent misdiagnosis by providing information that will guide the healthcare practitioner to make an accurate diagnosis. With a patient’s consent, the healthcare practitioner is able to access the following patient information using HealthID:
- The patient’s medical history
- The patient’s electronic health records
- The patient’s health plan benefit information
- Electronic health record:
- A central location where an individual's health data is kept in digital form, stored and exchanged securely, and accessible by multiple authorized users. It contains historical and current information, and its primary purpose is to support continuing efficient and quality integrated healthcare.
- One-time password (OTP):
- A one-time password (OTP) is an automatically generated numeric or alphanumeric string of characters. It is used to authenticate a user for access to electronic information.
Accessing HealthID from GoodX:
- Log in to GoodX Web and enter your username and password.
- Click on the name of the patient whose profile you want to access on your GoodX calendar, in your diary view.
- The patient’s details will appear on the left side of the calendar.
- Click on the Clinical button.
- Once you have clicked on the Clinical button, a Discovery HealthID button will appear on a new page.
- After clicking on the Discovery HealthID button, a HealthID login page will appear.
- Log in using your Discovery login details.
Accessing a patient’s profile on HealthID:
- Once logged in to HealthID
- The patient’s landing page will appear on HealthID, and the patient’s details initially accessed from GoodX.
- You will not be able to view a patient’s medical records if the patient has not given consent.
Requesting consent to view patients health records on HealthID:
- You can only use HealthID for patients who have given you consent to view their electronic health record. This section explains how you can request consent from patients whose health records you have never viewed using HealthID before.
- If you access the profile of a patient on HealthID who has not yet given you consent to view his or her record, a Request consent window will pop up.
- There will be two options for requesting consent:
- Send a request via SMS, or
- Send request via the Discovery website.
- Once you have selected an option, click on the Send Request button.
Requesting consent via SMS:
- If you have selected to request consent via an SMS, a unique one-time pin (OTP) will be sent to the patient.
- If the request has been successfully sent, a screen will display where you can enter the OTP number sent to the patient.
- Once the patient has received the SMS, he or she has to read it back to you so that you can enter the correct number on the screen.
- If the OTP entered is correct, the pop-up will disappear and you will be able to access the patient’s information.
- If the OTP entered is incorrect, the pop-up will display a message informing you that the request has not been successful. At this stage, you can resend the OTP or, alternatively, request consent via the Discovery website.
Requesting consent via the Discovery website:
- If you have selected to request consent via the Discovery website, an email will be sent to the patient.
- If the request is successfully sent, a message will display on the HealthID screen to inform you that the request was successfully sent.
- Once the successfully sent message has shown, you will not be able to view the patient’s records yet. You will have to close the HealthID tab and continue using GoodX until the patient has given consent on the Discovery website.
