Add/Edit a Department

The Department function is used to divide the Practice into its core operational units, such as Clinical, Administration, Finance, or Maintenance. In a busy medical environment, different teams handle completely different sets of responsibilities, legal guidelines, and operational hazards. This feature allows the Practitioner to create distinct digital boundaries for those teams within the software.

It is highly important for the Practice to use this function because it establishes the structural framework for the entire Practice management system. Almost every other major module in the software, including Employees, Risks, and Controls, relies on these department groupings to function properly. Without defining your departments first, you cannot assign staff to their correct teams, nor can you filter your compliance requirements to ensure the right safety tasks are sent to the right people.
