Cancel Appointment
Purpose: There are two times that you can cancel/delete appointments.
- Delete an appointment before the time of the appointment - the patient cancels the appointment; OR
- Cancel or delete an appointment after the time of the appointment - normally due to no-shows.
If the patient cancels the appointment, the appointment will be deleted when you cancel the appointment on the system.
If the patient does not show up for the appointment, you have the option to totally delete the appointment, or you can mark it only as cancelled so that you can draw no-show reports.
- Open the Diary screen
- Select the Appointment you would like to Cancel
- Press Delete [On the keyboard] or right-click on the Appointment
- Click on Appointment Options
- Select Cancel
- Click Yes to confirm cancellation (Appointment will be removed/deleted from the Diary).
NOTE: If you want to cancel the appointment (eg at 11:00 as shown on your computer) after the appointment time (eg 9:00 as shown on the diary), the following screen will appear: (THIS IS FOR NO-SHOWS)
- Click Yes if the Appointment should be marked as Cancelled
- Select No if the Appointment should be Deleted
- If you have marked no-shows as cancelled, you can print the Diary Statistics Report to show the cancelled (no-show) bookings.
