GAP Cover

Gap Cover is an additional, short term, medical insurance that assists the Patient with any difference not covered by the Medical Aid. A monthly fee to an accredited Gap Cover provider helps with paying shortfalls on any medical procedures as agreed upon between the Gap Cover provider, and the Patient. 

  • This user manual will Start on the Debtor Details screen. 


    • For more information regarding the creation of a new debtor, please refer to the user manual: Create New Debtor.
  • Navigate to the Gap Cover section found under the Patient Details.


      • For more information regarding the Patient Details section, please refer to the user manual: Add New Dependants.
      • An explanation will be given of each Gap Cover field, which the user will need to complete the relevant information.


        • Gap Cover Scheme: The name of the company with whom the patient has short term insurance.


        • Gap Cover Option: The plan which is associated with the type of Gap Cover that the patient has.


        • Gap Cover Policy No: The reference number that is linked to and associated with the Patient's policy with the Gap Cover insurance company. This is a text field that allows all types of characters.
    • Click on the Close button to exit the Debtor Details screen, without saving any changes.


    • Click on the Save button to save all the details that have been entered, and to return to the Diary screen.
