Facebook (Meta) Pixel Tracking for Your myGC Online Bookings

A guide for practices

What This Does

When a patient books through your myGC online booking page, myGC sends the booking activity to your Meta (Facebook) Pixel. This lets you measure how well your Facebook and Instagram adverts bring in bookings, build audiences, and let Meta direct delivery towards patients who are likely to book.

The tracking runs on the myGC booking pages, so your own website needs no changes. Send us your Pixel ID (see below) and our support team configures it for your diary.

What You Need to Send GoodX

We need one value from your Meta account — your Pixel ID (sometimes called the dataset ID). The ID is a long number, for example:

1234567890123456

If you run more than one diary and want to track them separately, send us the Pixel ID per diary, and tell us which pixel belongs to which diary.

ℹ️ A myGC booking session tracks one pixel per diary. For separate reporting per diary, give each diary its own Pixel ID.

We Also Need Your Diary's Booking Page URL

So that we know which diary to attach the tracking to, send us the external booking page URL. Find it in GoodX Web under your Online Presence setup. The URL looks like this:

https://mygc.co.za/external/diary/<your-diary-uuid>

The code after /diary/ is your diary UUID. It identifies the diary, and it is one of the values we need to complete the setup. Copy the whole URL and send it to us.

If you have several diaries, send the URL for each diary that you want to track, together with the Pixel ID that belongs to it.

How to Find Your Pixel ID

ℹ️ Meta occasionally changes the layout and wording of these screens. The steps below reflect the general process. If a menu name differs, look for the equivalent option. If you are unsure, your Meta advertising specialist or agency can provide this value.

  1. Open Meta Events Manager (business.facebook.com, then Events Manager).
  2. Open Data sources and open your pixel.
  3. Find the Pixel ID (a long number) in the details for that pixel.
  4. Copy the number. That is the value we need.

What Happens After Setup

After our support team configures your Pixel ID on your diary, myGC sends these standard Meta events:

Event When It Fires
Schedule when a patient reaches the timeslot selection step
PageView when a patient reaches the booking confirmation page
CompleteRegistration when a patient reaches the booking confirmation page (includes the booking type name)

Confirm that these events arrive in Meta Events Manager under your pixel's activity. You can then build ad audiences and conversion campaigns around them.

Information to Give Our Support Staff

Send the following so that we can complete the setup:

  • your external booking page URL, for example https://mygc.co.za/external/diary/<your-diary-uuid> (found under Online Presence in GoodX Web), one per diary that you want to track
  • your Meta Pixel ID (the long number), for example 1234567890123456, and the diary it belongs to
  • your practice name, so that our support team can find your account

Our support team retrieves your client code for you.
