Sending Scripts through Pharmacy Integrations
Why Use This Function:
With Pharmacy Integrations, you can send your Patients’ Scripts directly to Dis-Chem Pharmacy or Medipost, making the prescription process seamless and hassle-free.When you send a script to Dis-Chem, your Patient will receive an Order Number, allowing them to collect their medication without the risk of misplacing a paper prescription. They also have the option to have it delivered directly. If you choose Medipost, the medication is conveniently delivered straight to the Patient.
This not only saves your Patients time but also improves Medication Adherence, ensuring they receive their medication without delays. By integrating directly with the Pharmacy, you reduce administrative burdens while making it easier for your Patients to access their treatment.

- This user manual will start on the Script screen.
- For more information regarding how to navigate to, and an extensive explanation of the Script screen, please refer to the user manual: Basic Script Features.
- Click on the Pharmacy button once satisfied with the content of the Script.
- The Send Script To Pharmacy screen will open.
- Click on the Search field to type the name of the desired branch, where the Patient would like the Script to be sent.
- A list of Pharmacies will appear as you type. Only one character is needed for the list to appear, and will be shortened to the most probable option.
- Click on the desired Pharmacy to make a selection.
- The Send Script To Pharmacy screen will open on the Selected Pharmacy section.
- The details of the Selected Pharmacy will appear at the top of the screen.
- An explanation will be given for all the details:
- Code: The Pharmacy's unique Identification Number, as registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
- Name: The Name of the Pharmacy that has been selected.
- Address: The physical Address (shop number, mall/shopping centre/street address) where the selected Pharmacy is located.
- Click on the Choose Another Pharmacy button to change the Pharmacy that has been selected.

Delivery Process
When a Patient would like to have the prescribed items delivered directly to them using Dis-Chem or Medipost.
- Click on the Order Method drop-down menu and select Delivery.
- Click on the Payment Type drop-down menu to select how the Patient will pay for the medication.
đź’ˇPlease Note: How the Patient will pay for their Script order will determine how the Patient's Script is processed which makes the process of delivery faster.
- Medical Aid: The Script order will be processed and claimed through the Medical Aid benefits.
- Cash: Payment for the Script order will be done using a Credit Card, Debit Card, Cash or any other accepted method of payment.
- Click on the Comments field to add additional notes you would like the Pharmacist to see.
- Tick the Urgent checkbox to advise the Pharmacy that this order must be delivered to the delivery address as soon as possible.
- Click on the relevant lines of the Delivery Address section to Enter the address where the medication must be delivered.
- Line 1: Street Name/Complex Name and number.
- Line 2: Suburb/City.
- Line 3: Province.
- Postal Code: Area postal zone associated with the address.
đź’ˇPlease Note: The fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required fields that must be completed.
- Click on the Send button to send the Script order to the selected Pharmacy to process the request.
- An Attention! pop-up will appear to advise the Practitioner that the Script was submitted successfully.
- Click on the Ok button to acknowledge and close the pop-up and return to the Script screen.
- Information regarding the Script order will appear at the top of the Script screen.
- An explanation will be given for the information that has appeared:
- Sent to: The name of the Pharmacy, where the order for the Script has been sent for processing.
- Order Number: A Confirmation Number that the Practitioner is able to give to the Patient as a reference for their order.
đź’ˇPlease Note: Once a Script has been sent to the Pharmacy you are able to duplicate the Script when the Patient returns for a renewal. The Script details will remain the same but a new Order Number will be received and it will not be possible to re-use the previous Order Number.
Collection Process
The Patient goes directly to the Pharmacy to Collect the prescribed medication.
- Click on the Order Method drop-down menu and select Collection.
- Click on the Payment Type drop-down menu to select how the Patient will pay for the medication.

- Click on the Comments field to add additional notes you would like the Pharmacist to see.

- Tick the Urgent checkbox to advise the Pharmacy that the Patient would need to collect their medication as soon as possible.
- Click on the Send button to send the Script order to the selected Pharmacy to process the request.

đź’ˇPlease Note: The steps after the Send button is Clicked will be the same as the steps in the Delivery Process section of this user manual.
đź’ˇPlease Note: Once the Patient arrives at their selected Dis-Chem Pharmacy they are able to visit the Collection Counter with their order number. The information regarding where the Script was sent and the Order Number will also be on the Patient's Script as well as a barcode that can be scanned by the Pharmacist to confirm the order.
