6. Consultation phase

6.4. Results

This part of the consultation phase will most likely take place after the consultation itself, but is still relevant to the specific consultation and might still need to happen before diagnosis and treatment planning.

These are the results that the practice receives from special investigation requests.

Examples of results are:

  • Pathology results
  • Radiology reports
  • Specialist PDF Reports

When selecting a Telehealth platform, it is suggested that you select a platform that includes the following functionality to help you with this part of Telehealth consultations:

  • The ability to create tasks for yourself or other personnel e.g. creating a task for the receptionist to make a follow-up appointment, with a patient to discuss their pathology results.
  • The ability to receive pathology and radiology reports directly into your software, so that you have a list of results to check and respond to.
  • The ability to receive feedback from the patient's custom forms so that they can be analyzed and patients treated accordingly.
  • Specialist reports should be uploaded into the software for record-keeping and responded to as soon as possible in the further treatment of the patient.
  • The software should provide the ability to email, print and download documents that need to be sent to patients and other practitioners, or documents that need to be added to the patient’s physical file.
  • The results captured will expand the clinical history of the patient.

After results have been received, the practitioner can review the treatment plan based on the newly available information.

Some of the results available in GoodX:

Pathology results

The Pathology request will create a task for the practitioner when the results are back from the pathologist. The practitioner can investigate the results and decide what the best possible treatment plan will be or if any treatment is necessary. The practitioner can contact the patient to discuss the results. This assists the practitioner with shorter waiting periods for results and prevents results from getting misplaced.

Radiology reports

The Radiologist will compile a report with the test that was done on the patient. The practitioner will receive the report to plan the treatment. The practitioner can request the patient to go for more tests or contact the patient via Telehealth or telephone to discuss the treatment according to the report.

PDF report

When PDF documents are received from any technician or medical practitioner, the PDF documents can be uploaded to the patient’s clinical notes and extra notes can be added to the PDF report.

Download/Email/Print Forms

All GoodX forms can be downloaded, emailed, or printed.

Clinical History

All GoodX forms form part of the patient’s clinical history so that the practitioner can track a patient’s health over time and keep their previous medical history safe.
